Recently, Dragons Lake has boosted the production department, with Roland Birsan joining the studio and Daniel Negrea getting promoted. The two leaders have a proven capacity in the delivery of successful world-known AAA titles.

Roland Birsan, who joined Dragons Lake in February 2023 as the Delivery Director, will be working on defining PC/Console Service Line’s Project Management Office structure and delivered services, as well as ensuring that current and future iterations of development standards achieve business goals. 

“Acting as the top escalation point for clients’ requirements regarding service standards and development framework changes is a huge responsibility, and I am proud to be entrusted with it. I will also be identifying talent, tech, processes, and workflow needs & gaps to be filled. At my new position, I intend to increase the effectiveness of the PMO group at the studio, allowing us to be at the top of our game as the leading external development studio on the market.”

Daniel Negrea, previously holding the Senior Producer position, was promoted to Executive Producer. In his new role, he will be responsible for production team management, studio-wide budgeting, initiatives, and processes, as well as the development of production mentoring and career development programs. Additionally, he will lead critical business processes and pre-sales operations management at the studio, including budgeting, estimations, and negotiations.

During their tenure at Dragons Lake, both leaders showcased outstanding results in their respective departments. Roland was at the forefront of defining the roadmap towards becoming a more data-driven studio and implementing regular monitoring, control, and mitigation of production performance, concerns, and risks. Daniel has led the implementation of project quality standards and played a vital role in facilitating successful client and team negotiations.

Both Roland Birsan and Daniel Negrea boast extensive experience in game dev prior to joining Dragons Lake. Daniel started his career in the QA domain, switching to production a year later. Since 2016, he has been involved in releasing multiple AAA games as a Producer and Game Designer (two Need for Speed titles and three FIFA titles among them). Roland was involved in six Battlefield titles, four Need for Speed titles, numerous EA sports games, as well as in a plethora of other projects. Both Roland and Daniel have worked at Electronic Arts—for over 13 and 6 years respectively—among other experiences.
